Here are a few links to websites I go to for photography-related things, be it reviews of cameras, technique, critique, examples, or explanation of certain aspects, these are my favorites...

dpreview.com [1] - lots of reviews... great in depth breakdown of functions and features of the latest and greatest gear. When people ask me about cameras, this is where I go to get a general feel of what's available

fredmiranda.com [2] - an online community where one can get critiques, view examples, read gear reviews, and swap ideas. Weekly and Monthly photo challenges are always interesting to look at.

photo.net [3] - another community with great examples, gear reviews, and flowing ideas. The galleries available on this site are top notch!

luminous-landscape.com [4] - a favorite of mine, and where I went to get a general idea of apature, shutter speed, depth of field, etc. They just posted a great article about tilt-shift lenses. Waaaaay beyond my scope of comprehension, but interesting nonetheless!

google.com [5] - the venerable! When in doubt... just search it and see what comes up. Like any other question nowadays, you're not the only one with that problem.

These are my personal favorites. Feel free to leave a couple of your own!

We added some new features and updates last night. A vote button has been added to albums, now you can vote for a users album or your own, voted albums have a higher chance of getting in the top 10. The vote button will also be used for future fOTOGLIF community photography competitions. Our first competition will be announced very soon so be on the lookout for that one.

Recently commented albums are now being aggregated to the front page of the site, so get in and start being involved in the discussion surrounding your own and other users photos. In addition to the above we also added some updates that should help to speed the system up and hopefully create a better all round user experience.

More community related features to come soon.

Today we are pleased to announce that fOTOGLIF is available for anyone to sign up!

We have been hard at work here and the feedback from our beta testers has been instrumental in how we have shaped our service to reflect the needs of users. Along with the open release of fOTOGLIF today we are also announcing the following additions to the service.

A contribution based advertising share program. Today we are announcing that any advertising revenue generated by fOTOGLIF will be shared 50/50 with our users based on the activity their photos generate. That means no matter where your content is embedded or viewed any activity you generate with content uploaded to fOTOGLIF will be tracked and you will be able to participate directly in the revenue generation and growth of fOTOGLIF!

A fully integrated facebook application available here [1], now you can access all of the functionality of fOTOGLIF from within facebook and share all of your created content with your facebook friends or just keep track of the top albums on fOTOGLIF straight from your profile. With more social networks to be supported very soon!

A new website design that allows users and website visitors alike to access, search, see and comment on public fOTOGLIF slideshows.

Increased privacy control enabling users to create and share albums with specific groups of people without having them added to the publicly available content search and top albums.

Improved slideshow player capabilities that allow a users to showcase all of their created content from the browser no matter where it has been embedded as well as share directly to top social networks just by clicking the "share" button.

We are really excited about the improvements we have made with fOTOGLIF over the last few months and even more excited to see the great content our users are going to be able to create and share using the fOTOGLIF service.

It Pays To Share!

Mike

A special thanks to the team at digital journal for covering our launch, their coverage of the fOTOGLIF service can be found here [2].

Today we have a few updates to the beta application to announce. Along with banging out a few bugs and speeding things up overall, we have added two new function tabs. The first is a "Settings" tab, which, while seemingly mundane and currently only houses your profile settings will become the destination for you to make all of the modifications to how your photo albums are shown. We are working to add privacy features as well as account management features to this section so be on the lookout for those in the coming weeks.

We have also added a "My Galleries" tab - This gives you the the ability to review and share all of your albums from a single place. As well as a place for people to view all of your galleries at once. Yes, we are adding a comments module soon.

We also built in the ShareThis widget; as a side note, kudos to the guys at ShareThis [1], great, easy to use application which allows you to easily share links to your photos to most of the places you currently use facebook [2], digg [3], delicious [4], and reddit [5] to name a few. So login, try the changes, send us your feedback or leave it as a comment to this post and let us know what else you are looking for.

Well, we put a blog on this site and then got stuck in the holiday season and have not added anything since. Which was a bit slackish, I'll admit, but I think we all needed, and got, a well deserved break.

Back up and running at full swing again and I wanted to take a few moments to thank our current beta testers for all of their feedback so far. A lot of your suggestions have been very helpful and to be honest are really helping us to fine tune our business model and strategy as we continue to try and make a great web-application for all.

So. Thank you!

And for those of you who feel like you registered to participate ages ago and its unfair that you haven't received an invite yet, write me at feedback@fotoglif.com make sure to include/use the email you registered with and I will try and get you set up ASAP.

Remember to check back here for any news and updates on new features added to the system!

Well, we put a blog on this site and then got stuck in the holiday season and have not added anything since. Which was a bit slackish, I’ll admit, but I think we all needed, and got, a well deserved break.

Back up and running at full swing again and I wanted to take a few moments to thank our current beta testers for all of their feedback so far. A lot of your suggestions have been very helpful and to be honest are really helping us to fine tune our business model and strategy as we continue to try and make a great web-application for all.

So. Thank you!

And for those of you who feel like you registered to participate ages ago and its unfair that you haven’t received an invite yet, write me at feedback@fotoglif.com make sure to include/use the email you registered with and I will try and get you set up ASAP.

Remember to check back here for any news and updates on new features added to the system!

Mike

Let me start off by telling you what fotoglif is all about. We created this application so our users could create more compelling and interactive experiences using still photography. Today, web classified marketplaces; auctions and ecommerce storefronts are loaded with photographs that are used as the primary descriptor for purchases customers are making.
All over the web photographs are used to convey everything from products to news, travel locations to social experiences. Very rarely are these representations anything more than a flat, still, un-engaging and often low-resolution JPEG.

fotoglif is designed to change that experience and automate the creation process so you need not worry about the technical details of creating compelling and engaging interactive experiences from your digital photographs.

And yes, it will be free to use, store, create and distribute up to 2GB of photos anywhere!

Now specifics on what fotoglif can do for you:

	Create Zoom-able Interactive slide shows
	Create virtual tours
Create interactive and engaging classified and auction listings and send them directly to all of the marketplaces simultaneously.
Link or embed your content directly to your store, web site or blog
Track all your content to see where it is viewed the most

We are preparing for our private beta and if you would like to be one of the first on fotoglif, please go ahead and follow this link to leave us your email so we can get you started as soon as we are ready!

It has been a great ride for us building this, and I am really excited to share it with you.
