Management Team

  • Michael Betts, Founder
Michael founded fotoglif in the hopes of stopping all this fighting between pro photographers and bloggers. Having run a photography studio for several years Michael is passionate about photography and obsessed with the Internet. As the fotoglif “business guy”, Michael sleeps for one hour a night, and prides himself on being accessible to anyone and everyone using fotoglif. He rock climbs for sanity and resides in Toronto with his son, bulldog Tully, and wonderful, patient, wife.
  • Steven O’Reilly, CTO
Godfather of all things technical at fotoglif, Steven is the man that keeps the wheels turning in the development team. With 15 years in the computer science and engineering world, Steven brings a Hugh Laurie from House style approach to development at fotoglif. A devout workaholic Steven spends very little time doing much other than building fotoglif and what else he does, is none of your business.
  • Shoji Adachi, Director of Product Management
After working with Michael for 4 years and his insane 24-hour a day demands, Shoji is the only person up for this task at fotoglif. He started his career working with Michael in the studio and continues the tradition of managing and overseeing all product management for fotoglif
  • James King, Director of Engineering
Responsible for all things back-end development at fotoglif, you will almost never see what James does at fotoglif but rest assured it’s important. James started writing BBS text adventure games when he was 11, and the rest is history.
  • Gerald Chan, Senior Application Developer
Is the man who does all the JavaScript. If a light-box appears on a page, an image dynamically resizes, or a page shifts seamlessly from one image to the next without that annoying wait of a full page refresh, that is Gerald’s doing.
  • Tim Chau, User Interface Design
The house artist, Tim is the one who makes the whole thing look good. Before Tim, Steven wanted to make the whole thing run in command line alone. A talented designer with a unique ability to make complicated things simple and intuitive, Tim is the reason you can easily find your way around fotoglif.
